Safety & Security
Protecting Our Scholars. Supporting Our Families. Securing Our Future.
At Purpose of Life Academy (POLA), the safety and security of our scholars, families, and staff are among our highest priorities. We believe children learn and thrive best when they are in an environment where they feel safe, protected, welcomed, and cared for.
Our approach combines secure facilities, trained staff, controlled access, family communication, and ongoing safety improvements.
Our Security Measures
Purpose of Life Academy has invested in multiple layers of security to help protect our school community, including:
Security Camera System – Cameras are strategically located throughout our facility and property to assist with monitoring and security.
Controlled Building Access – Access to the Academy is restricted to help prevent unauthorized entry.
Electronic Security Gate – Our electronic gate provides an additional layer of protection for our campus and helps control vehicle access.
Staff Communication Radios – Designated staff members use radios for prompt communication throughout the building and during emergencies.
Visitor Awareness – Visitors are expected to follow Academy procedures when entering the facility.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures – Procedures are maintained to support the safe arrival and release of scholars.
Emergency Preparedness – Staff members receive guidance on emergency procedures, and the Academy conducts appropriate safety and emergency drills.
Ongoing Facility Monitoring – Leadership regularly reviews safety needs and identifies opportunities to strengthen our procedures and physical security.
Family Partnership
Keeping our campus safe requires a partnership between our staff and families. We ask parents and guardians to:
Follow all arrival, dismissal, parking, and building-entry procedures.
Never allow an unfamiliar person to enter a secured area behind you.
Notify Academy staff if someone other than an authorized individual will be picking up your child.
Immediately report suspicious persons, vehicles, behavior, or activity around the Academy.
Keep emergency contacts and authorized pickup information current.
Avoid sharing security procedures, access information, or other sensitive campus security details publicly.
If you see something, say something.
Authorized Pick-Up
Scholars will only be released according to Purpose of Life Academy's authorized pick-up procedures. Families are responsible for ensuring that authorized pickup information remains accurate and current.
For the protection of our scholars, staff may request identification before releasing a child when necessary.
Emergency Communication
In the event of an emergency, severe weather situation, unexpected closure, or other urgent circumstance, Purpose of Life Academy will communicate important information to families through our established parent communication systems.
Parents and guardians should make sure their telephone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contacts are always up to date.
Our Commitment
Security is an ongoing responsibility. Purpose of Life Academy will continue to evaluate our campus, procedures, technology, staff training, and community partnerships to identify opportunities to strengthen the safety of our Academy.
We are grateful to our families for helping us maintain a secure environment where our scholars can focus on what matters most—learning, growing, and building brighter futures.
